It’s been a while since I posted but I hope you are still looking in once in a while.

A couple of friends and I have decided to open an independent publishing company, the Independent Bookworm. The first two stories by my colleague William L. Hahn are already out. He writes heroic fantasy. Debbie Mumford will publish next, she concentrates on romance and fantasy (usually with a historical angle). I’ll go life with a full 90K novel at the beginning of next month, depending on when my book trailer is done (yes, someone is making a truly great booktrailer for me, and she’s so good… I’ll promote her in a different blogpost. Promised).

e-book challenge: scheduling time

I am back into the rhythm of writing and if all goes well, my “Non-Linear Fairy Tale Murder Mystery” will be done some time in August. If you want a chance on winning a place as a beta reader, go to my regular blog for the naming contest.

After reading everything about e-publishing I could get my hands on, I decided to give it a try. As a first step, I took stock. There is no use going digital if I don’t have novels to publish. Of course, I’ve got plenty in German but that doesn’t help me much since Germany is not (yet) big on e-book sales. But I found that I’ve got two YA historical novels and one MG historical Fantasy that might be a good fit.

So, my next step is to review all three stories for issues of language, spelling and grammar. I’ll do my best there but you have to be prepared for minor hickups. After all, English isn’t my first language, and people do notice once in a while. I hope you can live with that.

I will keep you posted on my progress,

E-book Challenge

I decided long ago that I wanted to publish this story as an e-book for those who are interested or don’t like to read online. Recently, I found some great resources on how to format the files properly to get a high quality output (and with Eszti’s pictures I do want high quality). I’m a bit disappointed to learn that pictures are not (yet) presented well on current e-book readers, but on my Sony they look good enough.

In the next few days, I’ll be putting together the necessary files. While I’m at it, I’m adding some additional information (not available on the website) to the e-book. Is there anything in particular that you, as my faithful readers, would be interested in?

I’ll publish the story on Smashwords, Amazon and Barnes and Noble for $0,99 as soon as I can. I will add the links here. I hope you don’t mind the token price, but preparing the files takes a lot of time out of my writing time – and I do need to eat once in a while.
